I am testing the 800 MHz radio link for Trippy, and I have been fooling around trying to get the Receive Signal Strength imdicator (RSSI) in shape so I can use it as a threshold for good data and enable and disable the receive UART with it. It was pretty noisy, but here it is with a 1K Ohm resistor and a 0.1 microFarad cap as a low-pass filter.
This looks like it is going to work just fine. I'll threshold at about 1.2 Volts on the RSSI for a good-data signal.

Testing the radio serial port

Nice small RF transceiver

Plugged in.

Top trace is RSSI, bottom trace is receive enable. This is with the transmitter disabled. You can see RSSI go to 1.0 Volt.
